Grok Rate Limit & Reset Status

If Grok says rate limit reached, Settings → Usage shows your real account reset time. UsageReset.at watches for something rarer: a publicly verified xAI reset, bonus or make-good that restores usage outside the normal schedule.

Another Grok reset incoming: NO

No verified incoming exceptional reset signal.

What “Grok rate limit reached” means

A rate-limit message means the allowance available to your account or current product has been consumed. For paid SuperGrok plans, xAI currently documents one shared weekly usage pool across products such as Chat, Imagine, Voice and Build.

Open Grok Settings → Usage to see the percentage used, the product breakdown and your weekly reset date and time. Free-tier limits are separate and can reset on their own schedule.

Regular Grok rate-limit reset vs. exceptional reset

The weekly reset shown in Settings is your normal renewal. This page tracks a narrower event: credible evidence that xAI is restoring or adding usage as a one-off make-good or provider-wide bonus.

An outage by itself is not proof of a reset. UsageReset.at checks the official status page and first-party public posts, but only changes the live verdict when a reset or equivalent quota restoration is actually supported by evidence.

Grok usage-limit FAQ

When does the Grok rate limit reset?

For paid SuperGrok plans, xAI says the shared usage pool resets weekly on the date and time displayed in Settings → Usage. Free-tier limits are separate and may renew on another schedule.

Why does Grok say rate limit reached?

You have consumed the allowance currently available to that account or product. Check Settings → Usage for your pool, product breakdown, reset time and any pay-as-you-go or upgrade options.

Does Grok Imagine have a separate rate limit?

xAI says paid plans are moving from separate product limits to a shared weekly pool covering products including Imagine. The Usage screen remains authoritative because plan availability and free-tier limits can differ.

Does a Grok outage trigger a usage reset?

Not automatically. An outage is evidence of disruption, not evidence of restored quota. We require a first-party post or reply that independently supports a reset, bonus or make-good before showing YES.

How is an exceptional Grok reset verified?

UsageReset.at checks approved first-party xAI and X accounts, relevant replies, and the official xAI status page. Positive status records link directly to the source used as evidence.
